Through her own journey with serious illness, dialysis, transplantation, grief, and rebuilding her life, Chanel Johnson shares her story to remind readers that they are not alone.

Chanel Johnson
Chanel Johnson is a Milwaukee, Wisconsin native, dedicated mother, true friend, and passionate advocate for helping others find strength, purpose, and hope through life's most difficult seasons. After experiencing serious illness, dialysis, transplantation, and the emotional journey of rebuilding her life, Chanel discovered that surviving was only part of the journey. She also had to learn how to process what she had lost, rediscover who she was, and give herself permission to begin again. Second Chance was born from that journey.
Through honest storytelling and reflection, Chanel creates a space for readers navigating chronic or critical illness to pause, process, release what they have been carrying, and find hope in what comes next. She believes that your illness may be part of your story, but it does not have to be the end of it.
